Actress Anya Taylor-Joy reacted tragically when asked if she felt “uncomfortable” about her eyes

Anya Taylor-Joy once admitted that cruel comments on social media upset her so much when she was younger that they forced her to stay away from mirrors.

28-year-old Anya has been a star since her breakthrough in Robbert Eggers’ The witch in 2015.

Since cementing her place in the entertainment industry, the actress, who was born in Miami but grew up in London and Buenos Aires, has starred in Peaky Blinders, The menu and even had a surprising cameo appearance in Dune: Part Two.

Before that, Anya played a supporting role in M. Night Shyamalan’s Splits.

In the psychological thriller, she played Casey Cooke – one of three women who are kidnapped and imprisoned by a man named “Dennis” (played by James McAvoy).

But when the trio spends time with Dennis, aka Kevin Wendell Crumb, they realize that the man suffers from dissociative identity disorder.

During an escape attempt, they try to manipulate his alter egos “Patricia” and “Hedwig” before Casey finally comes face to face with “the beast”.

One can say, Splits is not for the faint of heart, but in 2016, W Magazine praised Anya’s performance and wanted to know all about her dramatic rise to fame.

During the interview, the reporter discussed the Emma The actress’s appearance, claiming her eyes were “gorgeous” before adding, “They’re so far apart.”

“Were you insecure as a child?” the reporter continued.

In response, Anya revealed that she had been criticized for her appearance before and that she remembers a particular incident on social media.

“I can definitely remember when Facebook was around and I never realized that my eyes were far apart, and then someone tagged me in a picture with a fish and said, ‘That’s you because your eyes are like this,'” she says.

“And I was really upset about it and I didn’t enjoy it and I stopped looking in the mirror for a very long time.”

Anya further admitted that in 2016, she still felt uncomfortable looking at her face and still did not spend much time in front of the mirror.

She also admitted that the position of her eye had affected her athletic abilities.

“I have to say, though, that it’s interesting in sports because I became very aware that when I was smaller, my head was much more compact and so my eyes were really on either side of my face.

“It was common knowledge on the playground that if you wanted me to catch a ball, you had to throw it at the side of my head, because if you had just thrown it here, I would have just thought, ‘Oh my God. What? What happened? What’s going on?'”

However, she admitted that as she got older, she discovered more and more of her unique features.

She told the reporter that she had become “a little less awkward” over the years.

“I’m still growing a lot though. I’m still getting taller – last year I grew about two inches,” she added. “I don’t really know what to do with all my limbs.”
