Starting from the INEX Club base in Germasogeia, the cyclists rode through scenic locations such as Agros, Larnaca, Protaras and Ayia Napa, demonstrating endurance and skill, riding through challenging terrain and enjoying the camaraderie of their fellow cyclists.

The main objective of the INEX Charity Club Ride 2024 was to raise money for the athletes of the Cyprus Cycling Federation. These funds will be used to purchase bicycles and other necessary equipment so that the riders can focus on improving their skills and achieving their competition goals without having to bear the burden of equipment costs.

The main sponsor of the INEX Charity Ride 2024 was Cypriot entrepreneur Igor Makarov. As a former professional cyclist, Makarov knows how important proper training, high-quality equipment and expert guidance are to nurture talent and achieve excellence in his sport.

At the same time, Makarov considers supporting the charity ride a nostalgic moment. It reconnected him with a cause close to his heart, as he has been an active supporter of sports philanthropy for many years. He built his professional cycling team, the Katusha Team, participated as a member of the UCI Management Committee, and sponsored various national and local cycling groups, including Union Européenne de Cyclisme (UEC) federations and local charity rides such as the “Tour de Broward” and “The Hublot Best Buddies Challenge: Miami”.

Makarov sees the INEX Charity Ride as an opportunity to nurture local talent and ensure that Cyprus’s next generation of cyclists have the resources they need to succeed.

He mentions, “I have lived here in Cyprus for over 30 years and have seen a positive change in the culture and safety of cycling in Cyprus. Together with our cycling groups, we want to increase our support by looking for ways to help not only financially but also practically through our cycling experience.”

The INEX Club Charity Ride 2024 successfully raised funds for the welfare of the Cyprus Cycling Federation’s talents. At the INEX Club Charity Ride 2024, Makarov looks forward to more opportunities to share his resources and knowledge and to continuously take cycling from Cyprus to the world.
