Sabrina Carpenter talks about her friendship with Taylor Swift.

In an interview with Vanity Fair In her broadcast released on Thursday, Sabrina said that her friendship with the pop superstar had turned out exactly as she had hoped.

“It’s great to grow up with someone you idolize and then meet that person and they’re everything you hoped they’d be,” Sabrina said of Taylor. “On a personal level, she’s really been there for me and I’m so grateful. That’s something she taught me really well – she’s remained very human through it all.”

When asked if Taylor had given her advice on how to handle a public relationship like Sabrina’s with her boyfriend, Barry KeoghanThe “Espresso” singer did not reveal her cards.

“I don’t think there’s ever a how-to book on these topics,” Sabrina said, while acknowledging why her fans are interested in her love life. “It’s a lot of what I write about, and it’s a lot of what inspires me.”

Sabrina also said that she hopes her songs can be more than just fuel for the clap train.

“This is my diary,” Sabrina said. “Once I release it, others can interpret it. I try not to tell people what a song is specifically about. People don’t always know what’s going on in other people’s heads, let alone in a young girl who is facing love and many things for the first time.”
