This summer, the BBC will broadcast the entertainment series “Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience,” which chronicles the process of forming a British K-pop boy band under the K-pop group SM Entertainment.

SM Entertainment has teamed up with British entertainment company Moon&Back to form the upcoming five-member boy group.

The six-episode series follows the members’ reunion through Moon&Back and their K-pop training at SM Entertainment.

SM Entertainment assigned the group its best choreographers, songwriters and K-pop experts to prepare them for a major global debut.

“This unique acquisition will give a feel for what it takes to succeed in the world of K-pop. Watching the band come together and be put through their paces promises to be a very exciting prospect for audiences,” said Kalpna Patel-Knight, BBC Head of Entertainment.

“‘Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience’ brings together the best of the worlds of K-pop production and global entertainment production. Creating a British boy band, taking them through the unrivalled rigours of the K-pop process and bringing them to the global stage is a world first and an unforgettable viewing experience,” said Nigel Hall, co-founder of Moon&Back.

The series is scheduled to premiere this summer on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
