New York customers frustrated by expensive new rule at Sam’s Club

Social media is a medium through which users come together to learn from each other and communicate. More than ever, we browse online to see our favorite stores and their offers, stay in touch with family and friends, and stay informed.

At Sam’s Club, customers have voiced their strong opinions about an upcoming change to online shipping options.

Facebook users took to the comments section of a recent Sam’s Club post to express their displeasure with the company’s new approach.

What is the new expensive rule at Sam’s Club?

USA Today has published information about Sam’s Club.

You mentioned that Sam’s Club is changing its online shipping options. Sam’s Club Plus members will soon have to pay an $8 shipping fee if their online order is less than $50.

When do new shipping changes go into effect at Sam’s Club?

USA Today also mentioned that Sam’s Club’s new policies on shipping services and deliveries will go into effect on August 19, 2024. These changes will also apply to Sam’s Club members and Sam’s Club Plus members.

However, there will also be changes to Sam’s Club’s curbside pickup option. Sam’s Club members can receive free curbside pickup when they spend $50 or more on eligible items.

What do Sam’s Club members think about their new shipping rates and more?

In a post Sam’s Club made in June 2024, Facebook users recently left comments on a post. These Facebook users shared their opinions on Sam’s Club’s expensive new rule regarding changes to pickup options, shipping fees, and more.

Facebook users explained:

“The increase in shipping costs for Plus members is a problem for seniors who don’t drive long distances, like myself. My nearest Sam’s is 45 miles away.”

“I may not renew my membership in due course.”

“Removing free shipping on orders over $50.00 is a rip-off.”

“Walmart $35 minimum, Amazon $35 minimum, but Sam’s is now $50 minimum and you expect us to pay more for the Plus membership too?? No reason for the Plus membership anymore!”

“I am NOT paying $8 for shipping, which used to be free (or should I say it was “included” in my $100/year membership!!),” have been going to Costco instead of Sam’s for more of my stuff.”

“We are not happy with the changes. You should reduce the cost of Plus membership.”

Sam’s Club responded to Facebook users in the comments section of this post and shared helpful information to clear up any misunderstandings.

How has Sam’s Club responded to Facebook users’ concerns about the new policy?

Sam’s Club took the time to respond to Facebook users and their comments announcing changes to shipping options, deliveries, etc.

Sam’s Club stated:

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the change to our Plus membership benefits.

“However, we want to remind you that as a Plus member, you will still have access to a number of exciting perks, including free curbside pickup and 2% Sam’s Cash on qualified purchases.”

Sam’s Club also announced that Sam’s Club Plus members can take advantage of early shopping hours to gain access to special offers and promotions.

They also mentioned that they have a new feature for members, including free same-day delivery options on eligible orders.

Finally, Sam’s Club included
