Simple Plan said about their cover Billboard: “When Disney asked us if we wanted to be part of this project, it was a bit overwhelming because there are so many great Disney songs. But it became clear pretty quickly that The Lion King “The songbook and especially ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ stood out from the rest. The song just has such a classic feel and the melodies are so memorable and timeless. We also felt that it would fit our style really well and would sound amazing as a pop-punk version.”

There is no release date yet for Disney’s “A Whole New Sound.” It is also currently unknown who else will be featured on the cover album.

More news: Elton John is apparently working on two musicals and is “open to all great ideas.”

In May, Bernie Taupin, a friend and co-writer of the musician, announced that the singer’s 32nd studio album was “finished” and would be released soon. Taupin said on “The Other Songs Live”: “Elton and I are releasing an album shortly, but I dare not say anything about it because I have strict orders to keep it quiet. It’s all finished and recorded.”

Taupin hinted that the album will “surprise” and “delight” people, adding: “I think it’s quite brilliant and very contemporary and it will certainly surprise and delight a lot of people and hopefully be successful.”
