Famous Miami Heat fan causes a stir with dance on social media

The Miami Heat are the favorite team of many celebrities, including the famous rapper Rick Ross.

Heat team president Pat Riley was even spotted dancing alongside Rick Ross at the annual Family Fest at the Kaseya Center in March. The rapper is trending on social media once again, but this time with a dance he invented.

A video of Ross dancing in the studio has been making waves in recent days, at the exact same time as Smurkio Da Voice’s song “Beckham.” Even famous content creators have been spotted doing the dance, which people are calling “The Rick” or “Ross Run.” The dance has been viewed tens of millions of times in the past week.

White made a clear statement in the basketball world with his performance against the Heat in the first round of last season’s NBA playoffs.

That statement spoke volumes enough to get U.S. Olympic team personnel to take notice, and it might have earned White a spot on the team.

White was named to the team Wednesday morning as a replacement for Kawhi Leonard, who retired from competitive play due to injuries from last season. Many thought the spot belonged to Jimmy Butler, Kyrie Irving or another All-Star (Jalen Brunson?), but White proved his worth in the postseason.

In April, White scored 38 points in Game 4 in Miami, the most of the game. He made 15 of his 26 field goals and 8 of his 15 three-pointers. White averaged 20.4 points in the five-game series. After the series, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, who is an assistant on the Olympic team, spoke glowingly of White.

“He’s one of the most underrated players in the league,” Spoelstra said. “Because he does it on both ends.”
