Kickoff is set for 9:30 p.m. CT and can be streamed for free on Apple TV with the MLS Season Pass. 1. The strenuous phase continues

Sporting Kansas City continues its grueling run of games this weekend with an away game against the San Jose Earthquakes at PayPal Park on Saturday night. It is the fourth game of a hectic schedule that will see the team play seven games in a 22-day period from June 29 to July 20.

With Wednesday’s 2-1 extra-time win over FC Dallas in the US Open Cup quarterfinals, Sporting will now host the semifinals against USL Championship team Indy Eleven on August 27 or 28.

Sporting have now won three of their last four games in all competitions, all three of which took place at Children’s Mercy Park (2-0 against ATX, 3-2 against DAL, 2-1 against DAL).

The focus now is on improving the club’s away form, as Sporting has not won an MLS game since March 30 and has lost eight consecutive games since beating Toronto FC 3-1 – a club record. Sporting’s last away win in any competition came on May 4 in the Open Cup round of 32 against Union Omaha.
