How Travis Kelce Was Connected to ‘Karma’ Before He Met Taylor Swift

Of all of Taylor Swift’s songs, none has undergone the biggest transformation over the course of the Eras Tour like “Karma.” Originally, the standout line in the song’s chorus was a reference to her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn. But after they split early in the Eras Tour and Swift began her romance with Travis Kelce, she changed the line to show her devotion to the NFL star. Now the song is closely tied to the Tayvis arc, but it turns out… the lore goes even deeper. Swifties have figured out that Kelce has been spiritually connected to “Karma” since before the release.

That’s right – even before Swift changed the lyrics from “Karma is the guy on the screen” to “Karma is the guy with the Chiefs” at her November 11 concert in Argentina, Tayvis’ invisible thread was already in place. When Swift released her album midnight In fall 2022, she announced a song title every day on TikTok in a series called “Midnights Mayhem with Me.”

It didn’t seem significant at the time, but looking back, the date Swift chose to reveal the track “Karma” is insane. As Swifties recently pointed out, she announced “Karma” on October 5, which happens to be Kelce’s birthday. Yes, Kelce and “Karma” were both born on the same day.

This is the latest revelation about how Kelce’s birthday affected Swift’s life. Her official fan page Taylor Nation was created on October 5th and her grandmother Marjorie’s birthday was also on October 5th. The latter is especially significant considering Swift had such a special bond with her grandmother that she Evemore Ballad “Marjorie” about her.

This new piece of “Karma” lore is one of many surprising connections fans have found in Swift’s music that make her relationship with Kelce seem like destiny. Ever since the two started dating, Swifties have pointed out countless older lyrics from Swift that feel like they manifest Kelce as her perfect man. And now Kelce has finally inspired some songs of her own on Swift’s latest release.
