Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce skip the 2024 ESPY Awards

Taylor Swift is the NFL’s most famous fan, but she and her boyfriend Travis Kelce. missed the 2024 ESPY Awards on Thursday, July 11.

The 34-year-old pop star is in the middle of the European leg of her Epoch tour. After two shows in Zurich on Wednesday, July 10, she will next perform two concerts in Milan on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14. The tennis legend, 42, joked that Swift’s boyfriend later won a Super Bowl with his teammate Patrick Mahomes. Despite Swift’s lack of attendance, she and Kelce have stepped up their public displays of affection in recent weeks, as he has accompanied her to several shows in Europe. Travis revealed during the July 3 episode of his podcast “New Heights” with his brother Jason Kelce that the funny moment was his idea.

“I initially mentioned to Tay that I thought, ‘How fun would it be if I just rolled away on one of the bikes during the race? 1989 (section)?’ She started laughing and said, ‘Would you seriously be willing to do something like that?’ I said, ‘What? I’d love to do that, are you serious?'” he recalled. “I’ve seen the show enough times that I might as well get in line here. And sure enough, she found the perfect part of the show for me to be a part of.”

Although Travis was excited about the cameo, he was also a little nervous. “Listen, I always told myself, ‘Don’t drop the baby. Don’t drop Taylor when you walk to that damn couch,'” he joked. “The golden rule was, ‘Don’t drop Taylor. Get her safely to the couch.'”
