Murder suspect arrested nearly a week after death of 13-year-old Rose Dieujuste of Orange County

ORLANDO, Florida. – About a week after 13-year-old Rose Dieujuste was killedOrange County detectives have made an arrest in this case.

In a press releaseThe sheriff’s office announced that 28-year-old Jerry Dorisme was arrested Thursday evening as a suspect in Dieujuste’s death.

“Investigators worked around the clock to solve this crime,” the press release said. “This arrest was the result of their hard work, the work of our CSIs and the help of community members who gave us tips after seeing the video we released.”

According to investigators, Dieujuste was found unconscious on South Rio Grande Avenue on July 4 with “obvious signs of trauma,” and although she was taken to the hospital, she eventually died.

Investigators subsequently released surveillance footage of an unidentified man – now identified as Dorisme – who was seen leaving a parking lot.

Dorisme is accused of having committed premeditated murder. However, no further information on the investigation is available yet.

The sheriff’s office will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. Friday to discuss the case.
