The Battle of Arizona update is another free update for all owners of World War Z: Aftermath. This content update brings a brand new map to Horde Mode XL in the form of an abandoned military museum in Phoenix, Arizona – a map that features a battle that will take players to new extremes. Horde XL mode has been added to World War Z as an additional challenge and a step above the standard Horde mode, as the map size and the zombie horde itself are increased, meaning players will need to give their full attention if they want to avoid being overrun. Players are aided in survival by the new collectible items, Improving Bags, which allow players to increase their damage, carry extra ammo, or stash extra grenades.

New customization options have been added with this latest update, as the Desert Defenders Weapons Skin was released alongside the free update. This premium pack allows players to deck out their weapons with desert-themed skins to make them feel right at home in Arizona. Players can also show off their achievements with the brand new player portrait frames that can be displayed in lobbies and on the scoreboard if they want to show off their hard-earned accomplishments to the rest of the world.

Finally, players can adjust their class selection in the middle of a Horde match. During the preparation phase before each wave, players have the option to change their class once before the next Horde arrives. This change allows entire teams to adjust their tactics on the fly, resulting in a more varied and reactive gameplay loop that helps survivors deal with any Horde that comes their way – a huge advantage for surviving on the Horde XL maps.

The update “Battle of Arizona” is available for all owners of World War Z: Aftermath.
