TNA Impact Live Results: Jordynne Grace Open Challenge, Charlie Dempsey in Action

TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace will continue to defend her title against any challenger when she issues another open challenge on tonight’s edition of Impact.

Grace is coming off a win over NXT’s Tatum Paxley at Against All Odds last month, and with stars from both brands filling spots 1 through 3 without warning, it’s anyone’s guess who might rise to the challenge tonight.

One of those newcomers is NXT’s Charlie Dempsey, who made a surprise appearance last week by interfering in a match between Trey Miguel and Leon Slater. Dempsey will face Miguel’s partner Trey Wentz tonight, just two days after Wentz and Miguel reunited The Rascalz with Wes Lee on NXT TV.

A three-way match between “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Jonathan Gresham and KUSHIDA is about a title fight in the Slammiversary X-Division.

JDC – also known as the former Dirty Dango – will face Chris Bey in a singles match, while Digital Media Champion AJ Francis defends against Rhino.

Frankie Kazarian: What are you filming?!

This week’s show begins where last week’s show ended. We see cinematic-style footage that begins with Frankie Kazarian’s reaction to the system asking who attacked Nic Nemeth. “Marks… hey, what are you filming?!” were the last words as the show went off the air on 7/4.

On 7/11, the show began with a continuation of this shot, where Ryan Nemeth is seen with a camera phone in Kazarian. He shows up and asks what he’s going to do about it. Then Nic Nemeth is seen waiting for him in a dark alley. He beats him down until the fight ends.

In the Impact Zone, Jordynne Grace’s theme hits and “The Juggernaut” comes out for her announced TNA Knockouts Championship Open Challenge. She settles in the ring as her name is called and then, with a dramatic delay, we hear Gia Miller introduce Izzi Dame as the person accepting the challenge.

The WWE NXT Superstar leaves the ring and heads to the ring to issue her latest title challenge to Grace in the latest TNA and NXT crossover. The commentators remind us that fellow WWE NXT Superstar Charlie Dempsey will later face Zachary Wentz of The Rascalz.

After the bell rings to start the match, it is immediately interrupted when George Iceman comes out to a huge crowd of fans in the Impact Zone. He mentions that Ash By Elegance is on vacation, but he has good news: she will be watching via satellite from a beautiful luxury resort on a sandy beach that none of us degenerates can afford.

In the bottom left corner of the screen we see a small box showing Ash By Elegance sipping a drink in a bikini as Dame and Grace head into the ring to begin the first match of the evening.
