Watch Taylor Swift’s blue eyes shine and outshine the Ohio stars…that’s no lie.

On Thursday, the Chillicothe Gazette published never-before-seen photos of the “Tim McGraw” singer performing at Ohio University-Chillicothe Shoemaker Center in September 2007.

You won’t believe it – while tickets for the Eras Tour for their US shows in the fall cost $2,000 and up, tickets for the university show were only $20.

The Gazette published about 50 photos of a 17-year-old blonde starlet in the prime of her country music era, when Swift’s “Teardrops On My Guitar” was at No. 50 on the Billboard 100 and Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry” was at No. 1. Swift’s eponymous debut album had been released less than a year earlier.

Many of the photos are similar, looking like a flipbook of her and her guitar. Swift smiles, holds up a rocker sign and strums her guitar, her sleek blue dress with ruffled trim sparkles in the bright lights.

The Gazette’s headline, “She Leaves a Mark,” is nostalgic, but also a stark contrast to the singer-songwriter’s global success. If only this author and Swift could look into a crystal ball to see her blockbuster fame 17 years later.

Swift shared the stage with Cincinnati singer Jonalee White.

The Chillicothe Gazette is a newspaper in south-central Ohio, about an hour and 15 minutes drive from Columbus.
