Washington Spirit names Doug Vinci as club’s vice president of corporate partnerships

Vinci joins the club with over a decade of successful corporate partnerships

Washington, DC (07/11/2024) – The Washington Spirit is pleased Doug Vinci as the club’s new Vice President of Corporate Partnerships. He reports directly to the CEO Kim StoneVinci will oversee corporate partnerships including sales, strategy and activation.

“I am thrilled to welcome Doug Vinci as our new VP of Corporate Partnerships,” said Stone. “Doug is highly respected as someone who has consistently delivered results throughout his career and particularly here in the DC market. He has forged strategic partnerships that will be invaluable as we look to capitalize on the growing interest in women’s sports and the Washington Spirit. Doug is exactly the right person to lead our efforts and explore new opportunities during this exciting time.”

Vinci comes to Spirit with over a decade of experience in professional sports partnerships. Most recently, Vinci served as Director of Partnership Development for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). In that role, he was one of the highest-earning players in the entire league and was instrumental in creating partnerships in major categories such as healthcare, telecommunications, beer, health insurance, food and construction. Prior to the Commanders, Vinci also worked on the corporate partnerships of the Cleveland Browns of the NFL and the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Vinci’s addition to Washington Spirit’s staff further expands the club’s customized business operations. In just two years since Michele Kang became majority owner of Spirit, the level of investment in all areas of the club has increased significantly. In particular, the club has seen a sharp increase in its headcount and the full-time finance support has approximately tripled.
