Gaston Co. student artist banned for singing in a venue that serves alcohol

GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) – A rising Gaston County senior who was recently expelled from school following a venue controversy will attend the inaugural event along with two country music stars. Field & Stream Music Fest in South Carolina later this year.

Bailey Griggs, known by her stage name Marie-Bailleauwas expelled from Cramerton Christian Academy after performing at a venue that served alcohol. Her expulsion garnered a lot of attention online, with many people voicing their opinions.

Now she has been invited to the festival, which is hosted by country stars Eric Church and Morgan Wallen.

“Not being able to go to school, especially my senior year, was a shock,” the young singer said in a press release. “I performed at every venue possible to connect with fans and pursue my dreams. This opportunity is beyond anything I imagined. I am deeply grateful to the community for spreading my story! I truly believe in the saying, ‘When one door closes, another opens.'”

This fall’s Field & Stream Music Fest is scheduled for October 4-6 in Winnsboro, about 40 minutes north of Columbia.

In addition to the stars mentioned above, Bailey Marie will perform alongside other top artists including Lainey Wilson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Riley Green, Bailey Zimmerman and others.

In the past, she has sung at several iconic American venues such as the Apollo Theater and the Roxy, as well as at professional sporting events and NASCAR races. She has also made appearances on Apple TV and HBO Max series.
