Singer, actress and entrepreneur Rita Ora on shoes, sunglasses and shopping addiction

Rita Ora is cool personified, so it’s no surprise that all of her projects revolve around style in one way or another. The video for her catchy single “Ask and You Shall Receive” is an updated homage to a sexy 1985 Levi’s advert – complete with Ora wearing red eyelashes reminiscent of gerbera petals and scarlet lipstick. Shot in the same laundromat as “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, it was directed by her husband Taika Waititi.

She showed off her top-notch fashion skills as a judge on Season 11 of The Masked Singer (and will return for Season 12 on Fox this fall). Her hair line TypeBea, which launched in April after three years of painstaking work, is a true labor of love. And the Albanian-Brit’s latest Primark collection is inspired by the Glastonbury and Coachella festivals. “The clothes are ethereal, nostalgic and liberating,” Ora, 33, tells Alexa. “The pieces tap into that boho-chic look and feature big ruffles, sheer dresses and statement accessories.”

Ora will next play the fabulous, wicked Queen of Hearts in “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” which premieres on Disney+ on July 12. “Playing the role of the villain was even more fun than I thought it would be, and the costumes were out of this world!” says the “Don’t Think Twice” singer.

The multitalented star’s closet is full of bold colors and Berkins, but she admits she may have a little addiction to sneakers and band t-shirts, as both have their own section in her walk-in closet. The star likes the mix of high and low in all things, including the following.

“With TypeBea, it was important to me and my partner Anna Lahey to create hair care products that make your hair feel like it’s getting the attention it deserves. I love applying this mask to my hair after a long day to really hydrate it and make it feel healthy. It has all the ingredients you could want – biometric ceramide to reduce breakage and split ends, hyaluronic acid for deep hydration, argan oil for shine, and shea butter to moisturize and protect your hair.”

“Home fragrance is something I take very seriously and I’m a fan of anything that smells of vanilla. So I like to decorate the house with this candle from Diptyque to make it feel extra cozy. It somehow feels like a gentle, warm hug.”

“It perfectly embodies what we wanted to achieve with this collection because it combines the energy of boho chic with a vintage feel that takes no effort. It pairs really well with a lot of different tops, but my favorite is a classic white tank.”

“I worked with Shani (who is amazing) to get ready for the Met Gala this year and she was kind enough to give me one of these face sculpting wands to take home afterward and it’s quickly become my new favorite part of my skincare routine. It’s perfect for those early mornings before work or when your skin just needs that extra boost of confidence.”

“I try to read at every opportunity and am always on the lookout for the next great book. This one is my current obsession. It’s about the disappearance of two young women, but the story is told backwards, which makes it even more exciting. It’s a thrilling read that has captivated me since the first moment I read it.”

“One of the best beauty tips I’ve ever received was to never leave the house without my favorite lip gloss, and this new gloss from Charlotte Tilbury has become my newest favorite product. I love the balance between the pink and nude tones. It gives just enough color to enhance a look, but is subtle enough to suit a variety of looks. It really does make my lips feel pillowy.”

“I always have it with me because it is light, fresh and perfect for day and night!”

“Tequila has always been my favorite drink, so I’m excited to be part of this incredible industry and help create a high-quality spirit that not only I can enjoy, but also share with the rest of the world. Of the three varieties we have, my favorite is the Añejo, which is perfect for sipping on ice.”

“Anyone who knows me knows that I am an avid Pilates follower. Kirsten King, the founder of Fluidform Pilates, was generous enough to gift me this set and it has been a game changer – especially when I’m traveling and don’t have time to go to a Pilates class. I just throw the Magic Circle or ankle weights in my bag so I can stay active on the go.”

“This is definitely more of a treat-to-yourself moment, but I use this bag every day, whether I’m running to the gym or going to the studio. It’s big enough to hold everything you’d ever want to throw in a bag – from workout clothes to a picnic blanket to your entire skincare routine!”

“I love everything Marni designs. They dressed me for the Met Gala this year and it was great working with them! I always like a nice pop of color in the summer and these clogs have quickly become my favorite summer slip-on shoes.”

“For me, sunglasses are like shoes – you can never have too many! I love the oversized look and am a big fan of slightly tinted lenses.”

“With all my travels, it is so important for me to always take enough supplements and vitamins to stay as healthy as possible. These vitamin C packets are a lifesaver and help to give the immune system an extra boost.”
