We got our first look at Royal Caribbean’s private beach club in Mexico and it looks stunning

When Royal Caribbean opens its new beach club in Mexico, it promises a whole day of fun.

In March 2024, Royal Caribbean announced plans to build a beach club in Cozumel, Mexico, that will be exclusively for its cruise passengers.

The opening is planned for 2026. It is the second beach club in a popular Royal Caribbean cruise port. The first is being built in Nassau in the Bahamas.

When the cruise line announced the Royal Beach Club Cozumel, there weren’t many details. However, a new sneak peek gives us a glimpse into Royal Caribbean’s plans.

Jay Schneider, Royal Caribbean’s senior vice president and chief product innovation officer, unveiled new concept drawings in a webinar with travel agents on Wednesday.

He called these “really fun, high-level renderings that show where we could potentially go” and warned, “This is far from the final product.”

Water and view

The idea behind all Royal Caribbean beach clubs is to combine great views with great water access.

“If you think about the DNA of our beach clubs, the high-traffic ports that we serve,” Mr. Schneider explained, it’s designed to offer “great beach, great pool, great food, great service.”

Beach club admission includes access to swim-up bars, pool cabanas for rental, snorkeling, kayaking, restaurants and street markets.

Unlike the cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas, it is not intended for every single passenger on the ship. Rather, it is an optional, paid option for passengers, in addition to the other shore excursions and activities around Cozumel.

Further information will follow in the future

Royal Caribbean has not yet announced where the new beach club in Cozumel will be located, nor any further details about what the club will include.

Further questions concern pricing and a full list of features.

Since the Cozumel Beach Club is the second in line, the cruise line will first focus on opening the Paradise Island Beach Club. They may also use the experience from the first club to optimize the Cozumel Club.

More details about Bahamas Beach Club

Mr. Schneider also went into detail about what passengers can expect when Royal Beach Club Paradise Island opens in 2025, including some leaked details.

He did not want to commit to a date and talked around the exact start date.

The beach club will feature 17 acres of beach, pools and landscaping. “The views off the north shore of Paradise Island are simply breathtaking.”

There will be three pools and the club will adopt a zone concept for the design: a family zone, a party zone and a chill zone. Mr. Schneider was quick to point out that these will not be the names, but just guiding design concepts that will be followed.

There is a swim-up bar in every zone. “We focus on really great music, great drinks, great water and a great view.”

Mr. Schneider also included a slide that he felt did not belong there, but which shows an idea that his team is currently working on.

“We dream of an ultimate family cabana,” he said. The concept would follow in the footsteps of the Ultimate Family Suite and Ultimate Family Townhouse, which are extravagant suites that offer pretty much everything a family could want in a cruise cabin.
