In the video, the 66-year-old voice actress answers a fan’s question about whether she is related to the 25-year-old. Sabrina Carpenter. “Yes, absolutely,” she says. “Isn’t that incredible? When you find out that someone – maybe you’ve known me for a while, I’ve known this little 10-year-old boy for 35 years, and some of you for a lot less – finds out that I’m related to this superstar. It’s pretty incredible.”

However, the TikTok video is not the first time the two have mentioned their family connection.

“Because of my family, I am also a legend…” the “Nonsense” singer once joked in an interview with Capital FM in 2021.

“No, absolutely not, not even close. I’m just saying that was the coolest thing in the world for me my entire life. I didn’t get to see the show until I was a little older, but yeah. The woman is a woman of many talents. She’s not just Bart and she never ceases to blow me away.”

Carpenter began her acting career in 2010 with a guest role in the NBC drama Law and Order: SVUTwo years later, she was best friends with Rowan Blanchard22, in the Disney Channel coming-of-age sitcom Life and Ithe sequel to the immensely popular sitcom from the 90s Life and IShe then focused on her singing career, signing a contract with Hollywood Records and releasing the single “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying” in March 2014.

On Instagram, Cartwright is documented as having supported her niece’s musical career since its inception, posting a video of her niece’s performance at the Roxy in 2016.

“She’s my dad’s sister… We work at pretty different ends of the industry, but I’ve learned so much just watching her, and she’s so talented,” the “Please Please Please” musician said while briefly discussing her aunt in a 2021 interview with Wired.
