Baggage screening issues cause delays at Love Field – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

There are delays at Dallas/Love Field Airport due to problems with baggage screening.

According to officials at Dallas Love Field, there were problems at the airport’s baggage carousel on Thursday morning that delayed baggage drop-off.

Employees at Dallas Love Field use an airport-controlled and maintained baggage claim system that allows TSA to screen all checked bags, airport officials said.

Love Field officials said the mechanical problem was fixed before 9 a.m. However, passengers arriving from Love Field, especially those who had to check baggage, were advised to arrive about two hours early.

However, starting at 10 a.m., airport officials began asking passengers to arrive three hours before their flight’s departure. Although baggage screening machines were at full capacity, airport check-in congestion continued due to the high number of passengers trying to check in luggage, officials said.

Officials say teams at Love Field are working to process customers and their baggage as quickly as possible.
