Taylor Swift fan praises ‘Thrift Gods’ for find at Goodwill

A woman told of an amazing discovery in a secondhand store: a fan item from Taylor Swift’s current Eras tour.

By a lucky coincidence, TikToker @fimarshall was browsing the shelves at her local Goodwill store and came across the Eras hoodie on sale for just $5.

A video of this moment was shared on TikTok, where it has now been viewed over 1 million times.

“I randomly found an Eras Tour Quarter Zip at Goodwill,” @fimarshall said in the video as she showed off the coveted piece of merch on the rack, adding in the caption, “The savings gods were on my side today.” The hoodie, which originally sold for $65 at Swift’s concert merchandise stands, is part of the Eras Tour collection that fans have been eagerly buying up.

The TikTok post quickly filled with comments from both shocked and envious Swifties. User highcountrylemon commented, “Even if it wasn’t my size it would be coming home with me.” And Linz added, “I beg for BEST ASSURANCE?!”

It seemed the writer wasn’t the only one to make such a discovery. Commenter Bri Boyer said, “I found the crew version of this at Goodwill for $7!!! I guess people are sick of it, luckily I’m not!”

While Juls said in amazement: “This is crazy. I found Rep (Call) Merch, but ERAS?? That’s still for sale.”

Viewer Abby said, “Oh man, I’m so jealous. That’s the piece of merchandise I want, but it’s not on the site.”

The Eras Tour merchandise is highly sought after, ranging from $75 hoodies and $65 quarter-zip sweatshirts to $45 tour t-shirts and $25 water bottles. Fans have eagerly spent money on these items, making the $5 Goodwill Find even more remarkable.

Swift’s Eras Tour was nothing short of historic. Swift will play 31 more dates through the end of this year, building on the astonishing success of the 2023 tour that made her the first artist to gross over $1 billion. With reported earnings of $1.04 billion, she surpassed the previous record held by Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which grossed $939 million in 2022-2023.

But Swift didn’t just make millions from ticket sales, merchandise also played a major role. At many venues, merchandise was available for sale hours and even days before the concert began.

According to an estimate by Pollstar, Swift’s merchandise sales generate an average of $40 per concertgoer, which will bring her merchandising revenue to more than $200 million by the end of the tour.

In a later update, the author revealed that she had grabbed the $5 hoodie to give to a friend’s mother.
