BLACKPINK’s Jennie shares a teaser for an unreleased solo song on TikTok

BLACKPINK singer Jennie has released a teaser for an unreleased solo song in a new post on TikTok.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie launched her new solo TikTok account earlier this week and has since started announcing new music in her posts. Yesterday (June 20), the K-pop star posted a new advertisement for Beats by Dre’s new Solo Buds earphones.

Notably, the ad features an unreleased song by Jennie, which is also referred to as “untitled” in the clip. “Taken for granted, taken hostage / Carried the baggage, carried the past from us / As luck would have it, the future was written / They hadn’t planned for women to grow into women” She ends the verse.

So far this year, Jennie has released collaborations with Brockhampton’s Matt Champion (Slow Motion) and Zico (Spot!). The songs arrive shortly after the BLACKPINK star launches her own label called Odd Atelier in December 2023.

Jennie formed Odd Atelier just weeks after she and her BLACKPINK bandmates renewed their group contracts with YG Entertainment, while subsequently allowing their solo contracts with the label to expire in favor of independent solo projects by all four members.

Two other members of the group, Lisa and Jisoo, have since also launched their own solo companies, LLOUD and Blissoo respectively. Rosé, meanwhile, recently signed with The Black Label, which is run by longtime BLACKPINK producer Teddy Park.

Lisa has since announced her new solo single “Rockstar,” which will be released on June 27 at 6 p.m. ET or June 28 at 9 a.m. KST. It will be her first solo release since September 2021, when she released her two-part single album “LALISA.”
