Shadow The Hedgehog’s live-action debut has become even more exciting 6 months before Sonic 3

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is almost here, but Shadow the Hedgehog’s live-action film debut got even more exciting six months before the release of the third Sonic the Hedgehog Movie. Shadow has always been a fan favorite character in the video game franchise, with his inclusion in Sonic the Hedgehog 2The post-credits scene is one of the most exciting parts of the sequel. Now, Shadow will make a proper debut in the upcoming film, but something else related to Shadow has happened before Sonic the Hedgehog 3‘s publication.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is the highly anticipated third part of the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog film trilogy, with the upcoming film bringing back classic characters like Sonic, Tails, and Robotnik while introducing a new iconic character: Shadow the Hedgehog. Keanu Reeves plays Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3with much of the story expected to revolve around the anti-hero. While his actual debut is still a few months away, Shadow’s potential has just been hinted at in an unexpected place.

Before the release of the upcoming game Sonic x Shadow GenerationsShadow the Hedgehog will be an animated special titled Sonic x Shadow Generations – Dark Beginnings. The preview for the special has been released and it appears to be a retelling of Shadow’s origin story from Sonic Adventure 2. The preview shows characters like Maria and Emerelwhich means that Shadow isn’t the only franchise classic that will appear in the special.

Despite the silliness of many aspects of the premise, Dark beginnings has an incredibly serious tone that Shadows Sonic the Hedgehog 3 debut even more exciting. If the film can maintain the dark and epic tone of this preview, then Shadow the Hedgehog could be perfectly adapted and address the criticisms of the Sonic the Hedgehog Movies are too silly.

This means that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 could get really dark with Shadow’s Maria story and establish Shadow as a tragic figure in the third film.
