Love Island suffers major program changes after the European Championship duel on Sunday

The final of the 2024 European Championship begins this Sunday (14 July) at 8 p.m.

Love Island There will be a major change of schedule after the European Championship duel on Sunday (14 July).

Unless you have been living in complete isolation for the last 24 hours, you will know that the Three Lions beat the Netherlands 2-1 in the semi-finals of the 2024 European Championship last night (July 10).

England fans are excited about this weekend as captain Harry Kane and the team prepare for the highly anticipated final against Spain in just a few days.

Currently, ITV’s popular reality dating show usually airs at 9pm, clashing directly with the finale, which begins an hour earlier at 8pm.

So to keep both, Love Island and to keep football fans happy, ITV has reportedly decided to move the program up an hour so that it now starts at 10pm.

However, if extra time and a penalty shootout were to take place, there would still be an overlap.

The European Championship final is scheduled to start at 6.30pm on ITV and is expected to last until 10.45pm.

However, if the game ends in regular time, it should be over by 10pm – just in time to catch another dose of all the chaos in the villa.

Love Island was also postponed by an hour for last night’s England-Netherlands match, and let’s just say some spectators were less than happy.

One X user hit back: “Love Island on today at 10 because of football????? ENGLAND PLEASE #Love Island.”

“Excuse me?! 10pm!” yelled a second, while a third joked: “Bellingham should make this worth my time.”

If the Three Lions beat Spain this Sunday (July 14), they would become the first English men’s team to win a major tournament since the 1966 World Cup.

However, the English women’s team, the Lionesses, emerged victorious at their last European Championship tournament.

Captain Harry Kane recently came under criticism for his comments following the draw against Slovenia.

He said: “The bottom line is that we haven’t won anything as a nation for a very, very long time and a lot of these players have been involved in that and they know how tough it is. So it doesn’t get anyone out of it.”

Some accused Kane of “sexism” and many pointed to the fact that the Lionesses had actually won the last European Championship and finished second at the World Championship.
