After Taylor Swift attended Super Bowl LVIII to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs, her boyfriend Travis Kelce revealed the horrendous cost of a VIP box at the showpiece
Kansas City Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce has revealed that he spent a seven-figure sum on a suite for his girlfriend Taylor Swift and his family and friends at Super Bowl LVIII.
The NFL tight end is the highest-paid player at his position in league history and will make $34 million over the next two years after recently signing a contract extension. The 34-year-old’s wealth came in handy when he spent the cash in February to make sure his loved ones were there when he won his third Super Bowl ring of his career.
His boyfriend, the “Love Story” hitmaker, attended the highlight at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and did so in style, cheering on her friend from a VIP box. Having attended 13 games last season, she also sat in the stands with friends Ice Spice and Blake Lively, alongside Donna and Jason Kelce.

Now Chiefs icon Kelce has revealed that he spent a horrendous sum on the VIP box that his entourage packed in Sin City earlier this year. In the Netflix series “Receiver,” he spoke to San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle about the topic and confirmed that the boxes were listed for “three million dollars.”
In Kittle’s case, he decided not to spend money on a box because he felt his family and friends would be “fine” watching in the stands with the fans. Kelce previously admitted that he had to think about the cost of the box in the lead-up to the Super Bowl.
On his podcast “New Heights,” he admitted, “I’m not really doing much differently other than counting how much money I’m spending on this damn Super Bowl so family and friends can come. I’m just making sure I get those finances under control and don’t lose all that money.”
His mother, Donna, even admitted she wasn’t sure if she would be sitting in a box on her son’s big day, saying on the TODAY show, “Well, you can understand that the boxes in Vegas are multi-million dollars, so I feel like I’m not sitting in a box. I feel like I’m in the stands. As far as I know, I’m in the stands with everyone else because it’s an expensive Super Bowl.”
The sight of Kelce’s loved ones in the box ultimately confirmed that the tight end had decided to spend money so they could watch the game in luxury. With Swift at the show, the Chiefs owner made it clear that he was always happy to see the singer, saying before the game, “Having Taylor as a new Chiefs fan is very special.”
“I never give an interview without someone asking me about it. I think many players and coaches on the team are in the same boat. The most important thing is that we are happy for the two of them that they have found each other and have such a special relationship.”
Kelce wasn’t the only player upset about the price of suites for the game. Christian McCaffrey’s mother, Lisa, said on the Your Mom podcast, “We’ve been looking for a suite, and none of us can afford it,” adding, “Not even Christian, moneybags over there, and no moneybags, Olivia. So, we don’t have a suite. I’ll tell you that right now.”
