Zing Coach receives million in Series A funding

Zing Trainera Munich-based health tech startup, has raised $10 million in its Series A funding round.

The round was led by Zubr Capital and Triple Point Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to continue developing new features for its AI-powered fitness app, expand its workforce and enter new markets.

Led by CEO Tanya Parfenyuk, Zing Coach is a Palta-backed fitness company that applies AI technology to create the most advanced digital personal trainer that accurately assesses its clients’ fitness, designs the ideal program to achieve all desired goals, tracks, motivates, supports and guides them on their fitness journey.

Zing Coach does not rely on tests to measure users’ initial fitness and progress. ZingLab, a suite of advanced computer vision-based fitness tests and motion analyzers, and body composition scanners comparable to professional DEXA scanners are used to reliably and accurately assess new users. As users progress, they are supported at every stage of their fitness journey by their own AI coach. This uses a large language model (LLM) and personalized tone of voice based on the user’s emotional profile to connect with each user. It is designed to monitor their form and progress, provide tailored advice and insights, and motivate them through praise and encouragement.

Zing Coach will continue to improve its new AI Coach, which trains and motivates by analyzing individual training behavior as well as text, audio and video files to develop optimal training sessions and motivational strategies tailored to each user. The AI Coach was tested in beta version earlier this year and will be made available to all Zing Coach users in the fall. After the full launch, Zing plans to use its AI coaching technology for other forms of training such as Pilates, yoga and more.

Since its release in 2021, the app has been downloaded over a million times.
