Disney+ takes over Javier Fesser’s TV directorial debut “Shared Custody”

EXCLUSIVE: Disney+ is on board Shared custodythe comedy-drama series that Champions Director Javier Fesser’s first directing job in television.

We can reveal that the streamer will start Shared custody in January 2025 with the filmmaker Fesser (Campeonex, Away, The great adventure by Mortadelo and Filemón) is directing the eight-part series, which was announced over two years ago and explores the consequences of parental separation. Fremantle-backed producer The Immigrant is producing the series, which is written and produced by Juanjo Moscardó Rius, who also created the Goya-nominated film. In Shared custodyParents Cris and Diego have just separated amicably. They want to become mature, responsible and kind adults for the sake of their five-year-old daughter, but neither of them can afford to live alone and take care of her. Cris’ work takes up a lot of time and Diego doesn’t have a steady salary, so both are forced to move back into their respective parents’ homes. The grandparents are excited to have their children and granddaughter back in their lives, but things quickly take a turn for the worse. What started as an amicable separation soon takes a turn as they are faced with the harsh reality.

Lorena Lopez (The long shadows, The house) and Ricard Farré (Good manners, Poland) play the couple. Also in the cast are Adriana Ozores (The little loves, Invisible), Francesc Orella (Merli, Santa Evita), Aten Soria (Venus), Fernando Sansegundo (Lamentable stories), Lucía de Gracia, Cristina Alcázar (Galgos, Cardo), Clara de Ramon (Barcelona’s most famous sights), Víctor de la Fuente (Kings of the Night, The Nights of Tefía) and Edu Soto (Nacho, Mortadelo and Filemón. The series is the first outside Spain for The Immigrant, which is behind films such as the Crystal Bear-winning Adolfo and ViX series Ella FireplaceA Sola And Everything I have dones, which we first told you about last year.
