The Bookseller – News – Chris Whitaker’s thriller is the first choice for BBC Two’s autumn series Between The Covers

The BBC two-book programme Between the Covers has announced the first of six books for its upcoming autumn series. Cactus TV, which produces the programme, has announced that Chris Whitakers All colors of the Dark (Orion)as the first book in the series.

Amanda Ross, co-founder and CEO of Cactus TV, said: “My team and I all fell in love with this incredible book when we read the uncorrected print by Orion in February. When I read it, I knew immediately that we would love to share it with the viewers of our Between the Covers book club. Chris Whitaker’s writing style touched my soul.

“There is so much to tell and share with other readers, It is a perfect choice for us because it really deserves the widest possible audience and has the widest possible appeal. We think it should rightly get a lot of attention around release, so we wanted to show our viewers that it has already won our seal of approval so they can confident to read and pass it on as quickly as possible.“

This year’s fall series of Between the Covers is the eighth. Each episode, hosted by Sara Cox, features four celebrities who each bring one of their favorite books to recommend to the audience.

Whitaker added: “I am such a big fan of ‘Between the Covers’ and not stopped smiling since I heard the news. I am more than grateful for AmaandA and the team for their passion, friendliness and wonderful support of this book.”

All colors of darkness will be published in hardback in the UK by Orion on July 16. The book was published in the US on June 25 and became a New York Times Bestseller, ranked third in the hardcover edition and second in the combined print and e-Book diagrams.

The other five books will be announced later this summer, and Ross added: “My team and I are currently reading like mad all the other great new books out there and are choosing five more brilliant reads before we announce our full list of six new book recommendations in September.”

Season 8 of Between the Covers will air at peak times from November 2024. Previous seasons are available on BBC iPlayer.
