Several hospitality workers were “laid off” following the death of D’Vontaye Mitchell

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin – The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office said the death of D’Vontaye Mitchell is currently being investigated as a homicide.

A spokesperson for Aimbridge Hospitality said in a statement Wednesday evening:The conduct of several employees that we observed on June 30 violated our policies and procedures.”

According to the company, several “employees” were laid off.

“We are saddened and shocked by what happened to Dvontaye Mitchell at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee and extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

The conduct of several employees on June 30 violated our policies and procedures and does not reflect our values ​​as a company or the behavior we expect from our employees.

After reviewing her actions, her employment was terminated. We will continue our independent investigation and do everything we can to assist law enforcement in their investigation of this tragic incident.”
