Before Turner and Jonas tied the knot in May 2019 – and later had two daughters together – Jonas and Swift had their own whirlwind romance in 2007. The relationship lasted less than a year before Jonas ended it in a 27-second phone call with Swift – her words, not ours – and she later called him out during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
More than a decade later, Swift returned to the talk show in May 2019 and revealed her regret over her criticism of Jonas – especially because the two had developed a friendship in the wake of their breakup.
“Probably when I attack Joe Jonas on your show,” Swift replied when the host Ellen DeGeneres asked her about the “most rebellious thing” she had done as a teenager. “That was too much. That was too much. I was 18. Yes. We laugh about it now, but… that was cheeky. That’s what teenagers do.”
Jonas, for his part, reacted to her confession on ITV’s Lorraine later in the year.
“When I was younger, I probably felt pretty bad about it, but ultimately I’ve put it behind me,” Jonas said. “I’m sure Taylor has put it behind her, and it feels good, and we’re all friends, and everything’s good. We were so young.”
Swift has since proven that it is all over and even sent Jonas and Turner a gift when daughter Willa was born in 2020. After Jonas filed for divorce from Turner in September 2023, Swift took over the game of Thrones Graduate having dinner at a girls’ night in New York City.
Turner, meanwhile, has openly expressed her love for Swift on several occasions.

Sharing is caring
Turner and Swift have similar taste in men and fashion. After Swift wore a black Alexandre Vauthier dress in 2016, Turner wore it to her husband’s 30th birthday party in August 2019.
“I don’t remember who it was from, and that’s terrible,” Turner said in an interview with Elle UK at the time. “But I know Taylor Swift wore it to an event before and she looked way better in it than I did. But yeah. It was a really fancy night. It was a lot of fun.”

Dancing to their hits
Turner confirmed in 2021 that there was no animosity between her and Swift – even though the pop star sings about her husband in a less than flattering light.
As Swift prepared to release her album Fearless (Taylor’s Version)she released the song “Mr. Perfectly Fine” – a “vault track” written in 2008 that is apparently about Jonas.
“Me in 2020: Life is relaxed, I’m writing songs based on fiction to avoid drama, and feeling pretty grown up,” Swift tweeted immediately after the release. “My 2008 music from the archives, in goblin voice: ‘FREEEEEEEEE, MR PERFECTLY FIIIIIIINE.'”
Even though the lyrics are more than a little unflattering — “Hello, Mr. Casually Cruel / Mr. Everything revolves around you / Since your goodbye, I’ve been Miss Misery / And you’re Mr. Perfectly Fine,” Swift sings on the upbeat track — Turner had no problem praising Swift for the song.
“It’s NOT a bop,” she wrote on her Instagram story alongside a photo of herself listening to the track on Spotify. Swift shared the post on her own social media, writing, “I will forever kneel before my Queen of the North.”

After Taylor released her re-release album Red (Taylor’s Version) In October 2021, Turner posted a photo of herself wearing a “RED” ring and a scarf – a reference to Swift’s ballad “All Too Well.”
“I am not feeling well at all @TaylorSwift,” she wrote in her Instagram story.
Karma brings all her friends to the summit
Turner proved she’s a true supportive queen – and Swiftie – when she showed up to cheer Swift on at her November 2021 performance Saturday Night Live(In Jonas’ defense, he was there too.)
After Swift’s performance, the trio celebrated together with Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds And Sadie Sink in New York hotspot L’Avenue.

Turner raved about Swift’s fourth studio album, 1989in a TikTok Live from August 2022.
“(1989 is) literally one of my favorite albums of all time,” Turner told his fans. Jonas showed his own Swiftie colors by echoing her sentiment: “1989 is unbelievable. Awesome,” he agreed.
Turner also revealed a little-known fact about Swift’s 2017 album, Calland told Jonas that it was “partly inspired by Sansa and Aria Stark.” (Turner played Sansa Stark in game of Thrones.)
“Really?” Jonas replied. “That’s so cool.”
Cool with superstars
Turner pranked her husband at a Jonas Brothers concert in August 2023. After attending the show on the tour’s opening weekend in New York City, she shared on Instagram the friendship bracelets she had received from fans – one of which read “Mr. Perfectly Fine.”
Thick and thin with his ex-wife
Weeks after Jonas filed for divorce from Turner in September 2023, she and Swift were spotted enjoying dinner on a girls’ night out in New York City. The women walked arm-in-arm as they left the Italian restaurant Via Carota in Manhattan’s West Village before heading to a second location, proving that their friendship is not dependent on their shared connection to Jonas.
Turner later described Swift as one of her biggest supporters after staying at the musician’s New York apartment during her divorce. “Taylor has been an absolute hero to me this year,” Turner gushed to British Vogue in June 2024. “I have never been so grateful to anyone as she has for taking in my children and me and giving us a home and a safe place.”
No cruel summers here
Turner was one of the many A-list celebrities who attended Swift’s Epoch tour Shows in London in June 2024. “🌞 Sun, sex and suspicious parents 🌞,” Turner captioned a series of snaps from this month, including two images of the crowd at Wembley Stadium.
After Swift finished her three-day concert in London, she was spotted with her boyfriend Travis Kelce at the members-only Chiltern Firehouse club. Turner and her boyfriend, Peregrine Falcon Pearsonwere also there to celebrate the successful shows.

While Turner said Harper’s Bazaar in July 2024 that their preferred “era” is: “1989 every time, baby,” she revealed that Swift’s record of 2024, The “Tortured Poets” section“has me really well under control at the moment.”
The actress also revealed that it was an “amazing, incredible” experience for her when she saw Swift perform in London a few weeks earlier.
