Chris Speyer from REI becomes new Chief Merchandising Officer at MEC

Mountain Equipment Company (MEC) has appointed experienced REI head dealer Chris Speyer as the Canadian company’s new Chief Merchandising Officer (CMO).

Speyer, who has served as CMO of REI Co-op for the past seven years, reportedly brings over thirty years of leadership experience in specialty outdoor retail, wholesale and direct sales.

Speyer will officially join MEC’s leadership team at the end of July.
