Katie “We wanted to create a bold, exuberant and celebratory dance-pop album whose central message is the number 143, which symbolizes the symbolic expression of love,” they said on their website.

In case you didn’t know, “143” is a form of texting language that was popular in the pager era… the ’90s. People would send the numbers as a shorthand way to say “I love you.”

Why? According to AirDroid, “each number in 143 simply counts the letters in each word: I (1), Love (4), You (3).”

Interestingly, this meaning predates that of the pager by decades. The website notes that it began in 1894 as a means of communication between lighthouses and boats. It was also used in Morse code!

This is what fans can expect from Katie‘s album: “The result is a sexy, fearless return to form for the versatile musician with an album full of powerful, sexy and provocative pop anthems that you’ve come to love. This is an album with a lot of heart and a lot of BPM. Get ready to take off!”
