Roger Federer meets Taylor Swift at the Zurich Eras Tour Show: See photo

Taylor Swift may be a fan of soccer at the moment, but she also makes time to meet the greats of other sports. After her first of two Eras Tour shows in Zurich on Tuesday (July 9), the pop star spoke to Roger Federer backstage, after which the tennis champion posted a selfie of their encounter and confessed his love for the musician.

In the snapshot, which appears to have been taken by Swift herself, Federer wears a VIP badge around his neck and beams at the camera. The “Anti-Hero” singer also smiles into the lens, still wearing the last midnight Leotard that she wears at the very end of her show.

“In my Swiftie era 🦋🫶💜🧣🌃🐍💘🪩🌲🕰️🤍,” the former Olympian captioned the post.

Federer uses emojis, and he is not joking when he calls himself a “Swiftie.” Each of these emojis represents one of the 14-time Grammy winner’s eleven albums – a blue butterfly for her self-titled debut album, a hand-heart for Fearlessa Purple Heart for Speak Nowa scarf for Reda cityscape for 1989a snake for Calla pierced heart for Lovera mirror ball for folklorea tree for Alwaysa watch for midnight and white heart for The “Tortured Poets” section.

Hours after Federer posted her selfie, Swift wrapped up her two-day stay at Switzerland’s Letzigrund Stadium with a final performance on Wednesday (July 10). She will next travel to Milan, where she will perform two concerts at the San Siro.

And while it all turned out well in the end, Travis Kelce might find his superstar girlfriend meeting Federer a little ironic. Before the Kansas City Chiefs tight end started dating Swift, he, too, was a professional athlete who hoped to be introduced to her backstage at an Eras Tour show — but in his case, the “Karma” artist declined.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t speak before and after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings,” Kelce complained in an episode of his New heights podcast last year, a few months before he and Swift started dating. “I was a little pissed that I couldn’t give her one of the bracelets I made for her… She’s not getting to know anyone, or at least she didn’t want to get to know me, so I took it personally.”
