Western New England University launches first FinTech + AI Startup Launch Series

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Western New England University just launched its first FinTech and AI startup launch series with a $75,000 donation from MassMutual.

The FinTech + AI 413 startup launch series is designed to connect college students and local entrepreneurs with innovative startup ideas with the training and resources needed to turn those ideas into reality.


This innovative program is designed to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation in the areas of financial technology and artificial intelligence. This initiative also aims to make a significant contribution to the economic landscape of Western Massachusetts by providing an opportunity
for participants the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge to entrepreneurial ventures, using the latest technologies and ideas in the field of artificial intelligence.

Charles Mutiqwe, associate professor of business administration at Western New England University, told 22News: “Maybe they just have an idea and are wondering how to turn that idea into a business. Here we provide them with the help, resources, tools, mentoring and expertise they need.”

The aim of this program is to prepare students for the future. Mutigwe emphasized the university’s commitment to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship and called on other partners to participate in this project.
