Sonic introduces a new savings menu for $1.99

It feels like you are choosing your own adventure.

Sonic’s $1 Groovy Fries special was eliminated at the end of June, but with the turn of the calendar, the chain is now adding another value to its offering with what it calls the Fun.99 menu. Fun rhymes with one, and the items on this menu are only $1.99 each.

It’s different from the cheap, four-item, $5 menus that other fast-food restaurants like Burger King, McDonald’s and Taco Bell have recently phased out because diners sometimes want more flexibility than those menus offer.

Sonic’s new $1.99 menu features a selection of entrees – including two new wraps -, snacks and shakes. The new menu will remain the same, although menu items are likely to change.

Sonic’s new queso wraps

In addition to six new Flavorista Favorites, the creative and colorful drinks to beat the summer heat, Sonic is launching two new queso wraps on July 1. And each wrap is on the $1.99 menu.

• Bacon Ranch Queso Wrap: Crispy-tender white meat, bacon, melted cheddar cheese, ranch and white queso, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.

• Southwest Crunch Queso Wrap: Crispy-tender white meat, southwest sauce, tortilla strips, melted cheddar cheese and white queso, embedded in a soft flour tortilla.

Sonic’s Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger, Chili Cheese Coney Hot Dog, Small Tots and Sonic’s 16-ounce shakes in all flavors join the new wraps on the $1.99 menu. (If Drew Barrymore and your love of Sonic’s tots and shakes appeal to you, this cheap menu seems to be right up your alley!)

When Sonic app users order through the digital platform, they always receive half-price drinks and slushies. App users can also take advantage of half-price Classic Sonic Cheeseburgers on Tuesday nights, as well as other exclusive rewards and offers.

Although Sonic doesn’t offer an official value menu, adding a half-price drink to two or three $1.99 meals certainly gives the feel of a DIY value menu.
