On Wednesday, July 10, Hawkins posted a photo of her son on Instagram. But instead of posing alone with the singer, Brown was accompanied by his father.
In the film, the two were seen smiling happily as they posed with one arm around each other. The two also wore similar outfits – both wearing cool blue t-shirts and shorts, along with Nike sneakers.

According to PEOPLE, Clinton Brown and Joyce Hawkins divorced when Chris was seven years old. By that time, the couple already had two children – Chris and his older sister, known to the public as “Tootie.”
Clinton reportedly worked as a correctional officer in Virginia. Additionally, Chris’ father worked at a gas station, which is where Brown eventually found out about it.
After his parents divorced, Hawkins reportedly remarried. Chris later spoke publicly about his stepfather’s alleged abuse of his mother.
“He beat my mother,” Chris revealed in 2007, according to Today. “He scared me all the time… I cried and thought, ‘One day I’m going to go crazy over him.’ I hate him to this day.”
When Chris found himself in a similar situation after his attack on Rihanna in 2009, Clinton stood by his side.
“Hopefully he’ll get over it,” Clinton reportedly told PEOPLE. “We all have our weaknesses. We all stumble. I think he’ll grow as an individual. He’ll learn from this situation and learn from it.”
That same year, Clinton told the outlet he “couldn’t be prouder” of his son.
“He is the light of my life,” he reportedly added.
According to Black America Web, Chris shared a now-deleted photo of his father on Instagram in 2020. At the time, he reportedly referred to Clinton as his “twin.”
“The young SNIPER, me and my father. My dark-skinned TWIN,” he allegedly wrote at the time.
