Coraline Studio Laika collaborates with the producers of Spider-Verse for a live-action film

The iconic stop-motion animation studio Laika is expanding its range of live-action films with the newly announced Crumbleby screenwriter and director Brian Duffield. It is a collaboration with the Spider-Vers producers.

Laika is known for classic stop-motion films such as Coralline, ParanormalAnd Kubo – The Brave Samurai. The studio has become a bastion of a dying art form. Stop motion is a time-consuming and costly medium, making it rather unprofitable. According to Empire, the newly announced live-action film Crumble The film is directed by Duffield, known as the screenwriter and director of the 2023 science fiction horror film “The Last Man” Nobody will save you. Producers are Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the duo who also produced the Spider-Vers Films and The After the partyThe film is about a married couple searching for a cure for an ancient curse that will take them on a globe-trotting adventure. Duffield expressed his excitement about working with the legendary studio, saying: “I will never forget Coralline on opening night at the AMC Burbank 16 and wondered who these wonderful new geniuses were. I can’t wait to make a film with them and hopefully live up to their reputation, and I couldn’t be more excited to embark on a new adventure with my friends at Lord Miller.”

Laika’s stop-motion animation is still successful
