ARTESIA QUARTERBACK CLUB – The Artesia Quarterback Club will hold its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. in the Field House. All men interested in the football program are welcome. We will elect officers and discuss the upcoming hamburger fry.


ROAD CLOSURE – The City of Artesia informs the public that West Richardson Avenue from Fifth to Sixth Streets will be closed on Friday, July 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. due to the Artesia Public Library Family Friday. For more information, call 575-746-4252.

VOTING SYSTEM AUDIT – The Eddy County Elections Office wishes to inform the public that a “Ballot Counter Accuracy Audit” will be conducted for the July 10 primary election at 10:00 a.m. as set forth in Section 1-14-13.2, NMSA 1978 and 1.10.23.9 NMAC. This audit will be conducted at the voting machine warehouse located at 326 S. Canyon Street. ARTESIA YOUTH SOCCER – The Artesia Youth Soccer Association has opened fall registration and registration is open until August 2nd. Divisions are U6-U15. ADULT LIBRARY EVENTS – The Artesia Public Library hosts weekly adult programming focused on entertainment, crafts and learning. Ages 18 and up. Programs: July 2nd Patriotic Flags from Cloth Strips; July 9th Program; July 16th Program; July 25th Family Tracing Seminar. Crafts: July 11th Canvas Bag Painting; July 18th Paper Bag Scrapbooks.

LEGO Challenge – Kids can test their LEGO skills in an adventure-themed LEGO challenge at the Artesia Public Library. This is a drop-in event. Ages 12 and younger. July 5 and 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

STEM Lab – The Artesia Public Library will be hosting a different STEM activity each week this summer. This is a drop-in event. For ages 12 and under. July 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 11am-2pm.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE – Written in Red Foundation is sponsoring the 5th Annual School Supplies Drive July 1-26. Partner sponsors are Eddy County United Way and Ocean Bags, LLC. PAWS & CLAWS – Paws & Claws will distribute spay/neuter certificates to Eddy County residents only on Saturday, July 6, at 9 a.m. at the Artesia Animal Shelter, 501 Paddy Wagon Way. No reservations in line allowed; one certificate per household. Donations are welcome.

DANCE CAMP – The Artesia Arts Council is hosting a Friendship Fusion dance camp from June 26 to July 31. Cost is $60 per student. OUR LADY OF GRACE RAFFLE — Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church is holding a Christmas Raffle in July. There are 10 total prizes valued at $1,000 each. Tickets cost $10 each. The prize drawing begins July 1. To purchase tickets, call the church office at 575-748-1356.

WEED BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL — The 28th annual Weed Bluegrass Festival will be held Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Weed Community Center. Admission is $15 per person and $30 per family. Chairs are available or bring your own to enjoy six great bands. A catered lunch can be purchased and cinnamon rolls and coffee will be provided free of charge.
