Series Entertainment takes over Pixelberry

Series Entertainmenta San Francisco, California-based game development company, has acquired Pixelberry, an interactive mobile game studio known for its Choices: Stories You Play product.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The acquisition will support the series’ strategy to expand its studio system and provide a diverse catalog of different genres utilizing its development technology, the Rho Engine.

Pixelberry specializes in developing story-driven, episodic mobile games that engage players with a range of social issues and themes. Choices: Stories You Play is a category leader on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, featuring stories enjoyed by players around the world.

Founded by former Kongregate and Snap executive Pany Haritatos and led by CEO Pany Haritatos, Series Entertainment is committed to developing games based on its RHO Engine, an AI-native, multimodal, full-stack game creation platform.

The company, which is backed by top investors such as a16z and BITKRAFT, is also working on several other games, with more details to be announced throughout the year. Most recently, Series Entertainment announced its proprietary Rho Engine, the world’s first. The Rho Engine enables Series’ game development team to create world-class gaming experiences faster than ever before.
