Mother of DeAndre Hopkins, wide receiver of the Tennessee Titans, publishes tell-all book

Sabrina Greenlee, the mother of Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, celebrated the release of her memoir, “Grant Me Vision,” today, Hopkins announced on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“Millions of football fans know me as ‘DHop,’ an unstoppable force on the field. But to become an NFL star and get to where I am today, my family and I had to endure a lot,” Hopkins wrote in the book’s foreword.

On July 20, 2002, Greenlee was brutally attacked in public, resulting in the loss of her eyesight.

In the prologue alone, Hopkins tells heartbreaking stories about his childhood and some of the difficulties his mother went through while raising her four children. Hopkins talks about his college career and the life-changing moment when he was drafted into the NFL.

Hopkins ends the foreword by saying, “Even though Mom never had the chance to see me score a touchdown, all the way through my studies at Clemson and up until today in the NFL, I bring her the football after I reach the end zone. I give it to her when she’s sitting in the stands so she can touch it, so she can feel that I scored a touchdown. And that we won together against all odds.”

In the book, Greenlee also talks about losing her younger brother and fiancé at a young age.

Hopkins supported his mother’s book release with an announcement on X: “Congratulations on the release of your book, Mom! This is my mother’s story of how she managed to become a mother. From selling drugs just to feed four children to overcoming depression that stemmed from her blindness. This is more than a book, it’s us.”

“Grant Me Vision” can be purchased directly from its publisher “Harper Collins Publishers” for the special price of $24.00 or as an e-book version for $14.99.
