Charges against two teenagers after the death of Noah Bush

JESUP, Georgia (WSAV) – The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) will charge two minors in connection with the death of 8-year-old Noah Bush, who died in May.

The office issued a statement Wednesday following the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s autopsy of Noah’s body.

The press release states that the medical examiner determined Noah’s cause of death was drowning and, according to the WSCO investigation, the manner of death was homicide.

As a result of the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office will file charges against two juveniles, a 10-year-old and an 11-year-old.

Juvenile No. 1, the 11-year-old, is accused of the following charges:

  • Single battery 16-5-23(a)(1)
  • Negligent Homicide 16-5-3(a)
  • Hiding the death of another 16-10-31
  • Trespassing 16-7-21(b)(1)

Juvenile No. 2, the 10-year-old, is accused of the following charges:

  • Hiding the death of another 16-10-31
  • Trespassing 16-7-21(b)(1)

The WCSO investigation targeting the office is ongoing while additional information is processed.

The Wayne County community held several demonstrations to urge WCSO to speed up its investigation into Noah’s death in late spring.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched to cover the family’s funeral expenses and raised over $10,000.
