The fun and friendly Williamsburg Soccer Club of North Brooklyn is hosting an event on Sunday, July 28, World Soccer Day. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Bushwick Inlet Park.

Throughout the morning, the Williamsburg Soccer Club will host free pick-up games for kids and parents, as well as other mini-games. Youth pick-up games will be from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and adult games will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Limited edition Williamsburg Soccer Club merchandise and vintage kits for kids will also be available for sale.

Additionally, Greenpoint’s legendary doughnut shop Peter Pan (727 Manhattan Ave.) is handing out free treats, and Williamsburg’s Vietnamese cafe Larry’s Cà Phê (135 Woodpoint Rd.) is offering free coffee.

The founders and coaches of the Williamsburg Soccer Club will be on site all morning to answer any questions about the club’s program or camps. The club’s founders, Saára and Matt, told Green dots that they got married on World Football Day (so you can wish them a happy anniversary too!).

The Williamsburg Soccer Club offers summer camps and weekly soccer lessons for children ages 2-10 in a friendly environment. All classes are blended and focus on different aspects of the game each week to develop players’ skills and abilities while having fun.
