CHRIS 180 launches and expands mental health training program in metro Atlanta – WABE

CHRIS 180, a nonprofit organization that provides trauma-informed behavioral health services and comprehensive care, is expanding its in-person and virtual training program to seven southeastern states, including Georgia.

The various courses are designed to help parents, teachers, social workers and licensed therapists better identify and address a range of mental and social issues, according to a press release.

“With these courses, we want to give nurses the tools they need to provide the best possible care to their patients and clients,” says Anne Connell, Chief Clinical Officer at CHRIS 180. “By providing world-class training, we can support people in a mental health crisis and provide the best foundation for nurses.”

Courses include trauma, self-care, sexuality, program management, supervision and trauma-informed leadership. The challenges facing children and adults are constantly evolving and these courses provide the “leading practices” in their fields.

Many of the courses will count toward continuing education for participants who require classroom hours. Other courses provide information on topics essential to mental health nurses or program managers.
