So, The Bear is expected to break its highest nomination total yet, picking up a whopping 16 nominations. Of course, we’re only counting the major nominations here, but if the show scores a few other nominations like writing and directing, it could match or even surpass the current record for most nominations for a comedy series in a single year. That record is held by 30 Rock, which was nominated for 22 Emmys in 2009. However, The Bear is expected to break the record for most acting nominations in a single year. Currently, that record is held by Succession, which received 14 nominations earlier this year and at the ceremony before that. We believe The Bear will receive 15 acting nominations. Specifically, The Bear is expected to receive four nominations for Best Supporting Actor and Best Guest Actor in the Comedy category. The show is also the only comedy series expected to be nominated in all acting categories this year.

Only Murders in the Building and Hacks are tied for second place with six projected nominations each, but are still far from The Bear’s expected number. We think the former will do well with two nominations in the Comedy Actor category, while the latter should receive two nods in the Comedy Guest Actress category. We think both Reservation Dogs and What We Do in the Shadows will disappoint with just a single nomination for Best Comedy Series and no acting nominations at all.

As far as awards go, however, it looks like another big night for “The Bear.” We think the show will win TK Awards: Comedy Series, Comedy Actor (Allen White), Comedy Supporting Actor (Moss-Bachrach), Comedy Guest Actress (Lee Curtis) and Comedy Guest Actor (Bernthal). We also think “Hacks” will win two awards – Comedy Actress (Smart) and Comedy Supporting Actor (Einbinder).
