Why AEW’s Chris Jericho won’t retire anytime soon – TJR Wrestling

Chris Jericho has no intention of ending his career yet.

With the news that John Cena will embark on a farewell tour in 2025, attention is turning to other veterans who are still going strong in the ring. One of those men is Chris Jericho, who has had a career spanning three decades that includes successful stints in WWE, WCW, NJPW, and CMLL. Currently, The Learning Tree is signed to AEW, where he was the company’s first world champion.

During an appearance on McGuire on Wrestling, Jericho made it clear that he is happy where he is and is confident in his contribution.

“I’ll know when it’s time, you know? I really enjoy what I do and I still contribute at a high level. I can still put on the best match on the show every night – not every night, but every night. And I just love what we’re doing with AEW right now. So there’s really no rush.

The Demo God says he will know when it’s time to hang up his boots, but for now he sees no reason to stop.

“And when I know, I’ll know. And I think that’s the best way to put it. And right now, I’m having too much fun and enjoying it and really enjoying building AEW. We’ve come so far in just five years and we still have so much to do at the highest level. So from that standpoint, we’ll see. And right now, as long as I’m having fun and enjoying myself and feeling comfortable in the ring and out of it, there’s no reason to stop.”
