A famous face gave support to this Vermont animal shelter

The man known for his show “My Cat From Hell” was a godsend to the people at the local animal shelter in Middlebury, Vermont.

Jackson Galaxy began his visit to Homeward Bound in Addison County with a tour of the facility, which included Cat Land. Cat Land is a creative, fun name where adoptable cats are cared for until they find a forever home. Not only was Jackson’s goal to meet the animals and chat with the volunteers, but he wanted to use his platform and fame to raise visibility for some of the cats who have been living there for a long time and are looking for their forever family. While at Cat Land, Jackson worked with a furry friend named Rocky. He took the time to create a social media video showing Rocky in his best adoptable light, all alongside one of the most recognizable faces in the world of cats.

After making Rocky and the others into stars in Cat Land, Jackson held a small workshop for shelter staff and volunteers. The workshop discussed how to overcome obstacles in the shelter and in the adoption process. There was also a lot of talk about how to best maximize the potential of shelter cats as purr-fect future family members.

Jackson shared some really great tips on how to get normally shy cats to go out on adoption day, and it’s as simple as motivating them with food. He even turned the life of an introverted cat who was an hour away from being euthanized around by lovingly bringing her out of her shell and showing just how adorable these cats can really be. Other secrets to getting adopters to bond with these worthy cats? It’s important to get them into some sort of routine at the shelter.

Jackson mentioned how important foster parents are for these cats and emphasized that getting more people involved could help improve a cat’s life and increase their chances of adoption by providing them with a system and a space of their own. Overall, Mr. Galaxy and everyone at Homeward Bound had a fun and educational day.
