For those who want to stay fit without having to endure the summer heat, there is now a new option in Tysons.

Club Studio has completed an $11 million remodel of the former 24 Hour Fitness in Tysons West (1500 Cornerside Blvd A). The 500,000-square-foot gym opened for workouts just before July 4 and began offering classes last Friday (July 5), the company announced on Instagram.

The Club Studio features five boutique studio spaces and offers classes and equipment for strength training, boxing, cycling, hot yoga and Pilates, as well as free weights, cardio areas, recovery services and a medical spa.

The gym also features towel service, a retail area with apparel and accessories, and a “Hard Work Pays Off” workout room with “specialized equipment and turf specifically designed for performance and strength training while promoting community training,” according to a press release.

“Club Studio continues to raise the bar with its newest club in Tysons Corner,” said Nick Roberts, Chief Real Estate Officer at Fitness International, Club Studio’s parent company. “The location is at the intersection of residential, retail and office and provided us with the opportunity to redesign an existing fitness club to cater to an active and demanding community. With ample parking and convenient accessibility, we are very excited to welcome our members to Club Studio.”

Fitness International, which also owns the LA Fitness, Esporta Fitness and City Sports Club brands, launched Club Studio in December 2022 with the opening of its first location in Irvine, California.

The concept combines fitness and wellness offerings with amenities that vary by location. The Irvine gym, for example, includes a basketball court, as well as a sauna, hot tub and indoor pool, which are listed as amenities on the Tysons location’s website.

With the opening of Tysons, Fitness International now has four club studios and several more are in the planning stages, including the rebranding of a now-closed LA Fitness in Arlington.

Located on the third floor of the Walmart building in Tysons West, the Club Studio is open Monday through Thursday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Membership starts at $169 per month and includes access to Fitness International’s other locations.

Tysons West, a planned mixed-use development near the Spring Hill Metro station, is awaiting the opening of Umai Ramen and Donburi, a Japanese restaurant set to replace District Taco. Property owner JBG Smith also received approval from Fairfax County in May to build a multifamily building on the currently vacant lot at 8740 Yard Street.
