Taylor Police Department Arrest Report

It is important to note that an arrest should not be considered proof of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

2ND JULY

Fermin Mata, 28, of Taylor, responded to the 700 block of Lizzie St. at 2:42 p.m. for a report of a trespassing in progress. Mata was present at the residence after being issued a trespassing citation prohibiting him from entering the property. Mata was observed leaving the residence and was arrested. During the arrest, Mata was found in possession of methamphetamine.

Mata was charged with criminal trespass, a Class B misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, over one gram, a second-degree felony. Mata remains in custody at the Williamson County Jail on a total of $25,000 bail.

4TH OF JULY

Angel Carmona, 32, of Taylor, responded to a report of shots fired in the 400 block of Sloan St. at 1:41 p.m. An investigation revealed that Carmona fired a firearm inside the apartment complex.

Carmona was arrested and charged with fatal use of a firearm, a Class A misdemeanor. No injuries were reported. Carmona was given a $1,000 public relations bond and released on July 5.

5TH JULY

Karen Rutter, 69, of Taylor, at 6:06 p.m., in the 1600 block of N.

On Main St., officers arrested Rutter and charged her with driving while intoxicated with an open container of alcohol, a Class B misdemeanor. Rutter was given a $1,500 public relations bond and released on July 6.

6 JULY

Antonio Sanchez, 20, of Taylor, was arrested by officers at 12:01 a.m. in the 1000 block of Dellinger Dr. He had an outstanding warrant out of Taylor for violation of bail/protective order, a Class A misdemeanor. Sanchez remains in custody at the Williamson County Jail on $100 bail.

Officers responded to Jaron Davis, 31, of Taylor, in the 4000 block of Great Basin Dr., on a report of a disturbance. An investigation revealed that Davis physically restrained and assaulted a member of the household, causing injury. Davis also had a Williamson County warrant for his arrest for theft over $30,000, a third-degree felony.

Davis was arrested on the warrant and charged with Assault/Domestic Violence, a Class A Misdemeanor, and False Imprisonment, a Class A Misdemeanor. Davis remains in custody at the Williamson County Jail on bail totaling $110,000.

7TH OF JULY

Margarita Vargas, 59, of Taylor, was arrested at 8:11 p.m. in the 300 block of S. Doak St. by officers on two outstanding warrants for Class B theft. Vargas was given PR bonds totaling $2,000 and released the same day.
