These are the 20 most dangerous intersections in Michigan; 18 are in southeast Michigan

Michigan Auto Law released its list of the 20 most dangerous intersections in Michigan last year.

The law firm uses data from the Michigan State Police on the number of car accidents that occurred at intersections in the past year.

Pursuant to Michigan Auto Law, MSP receives data from accident reports filed by local law enforcement agencies throughout the state.

In this case, an intersection is any road with a traffic light, an intersection with four stop signs or a roundabout.

Below are the 20 most dangerous intersections in Michigan.

1. 11 Mile Rd./I-696 at Van Dyke in Warren/Center Line – 218 accidents, 52 injuries
2. Martin Parkway at North Pontiac Trail in Commerce Township – 160 accidents, 11 injuries
3. Schoolcraft at Telegraph in Redford Township – 154 accidents, 47 injuries
4. 18 1/2 miles at Van Dyke in Sterling Heights – 135 falls, nine injured
5. Orchard Lake at 14 Mile in Farmington Hills – 132 accidents, 12 injuries
6. State Rd. at W. Ellsworth Rd. in Ann Arbor – 126 accidents, five injuries
7. US 131 at Wealthy St. in Grand Rapids – 112 accidents, 28 injuries, one fatality
8. Telegraph at 12 Mile in Southfield – 99 accidents, 35 injuries
9. 10 Mile on I-94 in St. Clair Shores – 100 accidents, 33 injuries
10. Southfield on W. 11 Mile in Lathrup Village – 96 accidents, 30 injuries
11. 11 Mile/I-696 near Hoover in Warren – 86 accidents, 18 injuries
12. Middle Belt at Schoolcraft in Livonia – 80 accidents, 15 injuries
13. Burton St. SW on US 131 in Grand Rapids – 77 accidents, 21 injuries
14. Joy Rd. on M-39 in Detroit – 72 accidents, 20 injuries
