ANNAPOLIS, MD – The upcoming series “Lady in the Lake” will debut on Apple TV+ on July 19, 2024. The production created 1,132 jobs in Maryland, utilized goods and services from 2,456 local businesses, and funded more than 32,000 hotel room nights at local lodging establishments – and generated more than $100 million during production in Maryland.

“Our administration is not afraid to make big investments in the industries where we can lead – and that includes the world of entertainment,” said Governor Wes Moore. “By maintaining Maryland’s leadership in television, we will create jobs, drive growth and unlock our state’s full potential. We are very grateful for Apple and Fifth Season’s investment in Maryland and hope to continue this fruitful relationship for years to come.”

Based on the New York Times bestseller by Maryland author Laura Lippman, the series tells the story of a stay-at-home mom who becomes an investigative journalist to solve a murder. Lady in the Lake is a collaboration between Apple, Fifth Season and Crazyrose.

“Baltimore is one of the best cities to film in,” said Debbie Donaldson Dorsey, director of the Baltimore Film Office. “Our crew, actors, city officials and local businesses all contributed to Lady in the Lake, and we look forward to seeing 1960s Baltimore in this new miniseries.”
